AXA Group's fifth Corporate Responsibility Week: focus on climate risks
AXA is organizing its Corporate Responsibility Week for the fifth year running. From June 8 to 12, the Group's employees around the world will be joining forces to promote risk education and protection. Last year, 77,000 employees took part in this major event.
For instance, employees will be invited to take part in a Group-wide challenge: "All committed for the environment". The principle is simple: they can take a photo of themselves taking action to protect the environment. The participants could then be able to vote for a project with the NGO CARE, an AXA partner. This operation will make it possible to help fund projects providing support to communities facing climate risks in Central America, Madagascar or India.
"The AXA Group's mission is to protect its customers and society in general over the long term. Corporate Responsibility Week is a concrete illustration of this mission: it offers an outstanding opportunity for all employees across the Group to show their commitment. This year, we are focusing in particular on climate risks, because we firmly believe that they will represent the crucial challenge for the years ahead, both for the Group and for the communities we work in", confirms Alice Steenland, AXA Group Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer.
Here are some examples of the activities being organized this year:
In France, AXA is organizing various events, including roundtable sessions with experts from AXA, the French national center for scientific research (CNRS) and the NGO CARE on the impacts and solutions linked to climate change. Thursday June 11 will be a special day for employees at AXA France, with the launch of AXA Prévention's "Get Moving" operation, as well as other environmental and community actions.
In Morocco, the Group's employees will be taking part in efforts to clean up a public park in Casablanca, while others will be giving blood. Volunteer ophthalmologists will also be offering free medical checkups in rural areas as part of a "health caravan".
At AXA Corporate Solutions, Tuesday will be focused on promoting diversity with an "à la carte theater", while Thursday will offer opportunities for employees to get involved in actions to clean up pollution along the banks of the River Seine and in the Bois de Vincennes forest, in partnership with AXA Hearts In Action (the Group's global volunteer program).
In New York City, AXA employees will partner with Central Park Conservancy to remove invasive weeds at Central Park.
